Ingenius defines coaching as a supportive outcome focused relationship where the client is held accountable to their results. The coaches' role is to enable the client to identify their passion, potential and purpose - their genius - in a safe and confidential environment. The coach and the client work together creating a set of beliefs that support their genius.
What's the difference between coaching and therapy?
Coaching is not intended to diagnose or cure mental illness. Coaching focuses on the strengths and capabilities of the mentally healthy person and moving you to greater success. Therapy tends to focus on the resolution of past issues and blockages.
Although we work with you to identify what is holding you back from achieving the things in life you wish to achieve - coaching quickly works to get you moving towards the life you want.
Therapy is a valuable process and we refer clients on to Psychologists and other specialists and therapists if necessary for more clinical issues.
What is the difference between performance coaching and life coaching?
Most life coaching models available on the market today focus primarily
on goal setting - predominantly using telephone as the preferred method
of communication with the client. The Life Coach provides the client
with a very structured, step-by-step process that is followed on a
weekly basis.
In contrast, the Ingenius Performance Coaching model treats each person
or business as unique and valuable. Before it is possible to set
short, medium and long-term goals it is important to determine what has
held the client back from success in the past. This is done by looking
at the client's identity, values and beliefs, that may or may not be
supportive of fulfilling the clients' potential. Then and only then is
it possible to design real outcomes that the client takes ownership of
and successfully incorporates into their life.
What is a typical session like?
A typical session lasts between one hour and two hours. The Ingenius Coach is there to be totally focused on you and working towards your success. The Coach may take notes during the session and will often provide you with "homeplay" exercises to keep you going between appointments.
What about confidentiality?
All sessions are strictly confidential. Both the coach and the client sign a confidentiality agreement.
Can I be coached in one session or does it require a series?
In order to ensure real and lasting change the coaching process may
take anything up to six months. Everyone progresses at different rates
and we take this into consideration - also the demands on your time and
energy. Between sessions your coach is available via the phone to
discuss any issues that may arise.
How long does it take before I will see results?
Coaching is very individual and we all progress at our own pace. Many
of our clients do say they are seeing results in their lives right from
the first session through to others who first notice the changes a
month or two down the track. It really depends on the issues being
addressed and the goals and actions being undertaken!
What kinds of benefits can I expect from coaching?
Some of the benefits that our clients have reported back to us include:
* I am living the life I always wanted
* I have so much more confidence
* My business turnover has doubled
* My relationships have improved
* I have changed so much for the better that people barely recognise me
* A more balanced, satisfying life.
How much does it cost?
The cost varies depending on the package that the client chooses and the type of coaching the client requires.
